Start from the Jolly Farmers car park (S). Cross the road and head up Long Common Lane towards the church. At the junction bear left and then immediately right into Church Lane signposted to Church and School. At the top of the hill continue straight ahead until you reach the road at the top of Swanton Hill. Bear right and then immediatelu left following the signpost.

At (1) the main path bears right through a gate but you should bear left and cross an open field until you reach a track. Bear left and look for another signpost that points to the right and leads over another field until you reach a road. Bear right and at another signpost cross a ditch and head across a field towards a large hedge. Go through the gap and continue onwards until where the path forms a crossways (2). Turn left and descend gently aiming for the right hand side of a tall hedge. Follow the path with the hedge on your left, through the farm grounds (3) and climb gently to the T-junction. Go straight across and walk over the next field until you reach another road where you bear right.

Descend to the next T-junction and turn left at the pond. Follow the road around a couple of sharp bends until you see a footpath sign. After a short distance where the path forks bear left, dropping gently towards a hedge. Follow the path with your hedge on the left until you come to a large gap (4). Go through the gap and follow the path which leads straight across two large fields (This section can be muddy after rain). The path eventually becomes a road that leads up to the school. Turn right here and descend towards the village. The path joins The Street at the Village Hall where you continue on until you reach the T-junction with the Aylsham Road where you turn left back to the Jolly Farmers
